Sally Barnett Almand

HENDERSON- Sally Barnett Almand, 81, formerly of Beechwood Trail, died Friday, January 9, 2026 at Kerr Lake Nursing and Rehab. Born September 18, 1944 in Norfolk, VA, she was the daughter of the late Marion Smith Barnett and Edward Bailey Barnett. Sally attended William and Mary College and was a member of Chi Omega Sorority. She also was a member of First United Methodist Church and their Fellowship Sunday School Class. Early in her adult life, she was a food broker with Frank A. Serio and Sons, a wholesale bakery supply company.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 14, 2026, at 2:00 P.M. in the J. M. White Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. George Loveland Entombment will follow at Sunset Gardens.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at the J. M. White Funeral Home.

Sally is survived by her daughter, Susan Almand Kaspar and husband, Frank of Calgary, Alberta, Canada; her son, John Louis Almand and wife, Sheila of Henderson; three grandchildren, Kendal Blaire Almand, Jonathan Louis Kaspar and James Kaspar and wife, Josie; her great-grandson, Jaxon Blair Kaspar; her sister, Susan Barnett Sawyer of Henderson and her brother, John Wright Barnett of Cary.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Barnett, Jr; and her close friends, who she lived with for 40 years, George and Ferebee Allen

Serving as pallbearers will be Jonathan Kaspar, James Kaspar, Jim Smith, Mike smith, Ted smith, and Clay Allen.

The family would like to thank Mary Watson for her loving care and devotion over the past year.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Lupas Foundation in Honor of Sally Barnett Almand at Lupas Foundation of America.
