HENDERSON-Mrs. Sally Coghill Watkins Guerrant, 83, a former resident of Edwards Road, died Saturday, July 08, 2017, in a local nursing home.Born on July 11, 1933 in Vance County, she was the daughter of the late Maurice Lee Coghill, Sr. and Gladys Woodlief Coghill, and was the widow of John W. Watkins, Sr. and Johnny Frank Guerrant.
Mrs. Guerrant was a member of Fuller Chapel Christian Church, formerly known as Fuller Chapel United Church of Christ, where she was a former choir director and started the Youth Choir at the church.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 15, 2017, at 2 pm at Fuller Chapel Christian Church by the Rev. Tammy Ayscue.The family will receive friends following the service in the Fellowship Hall at Fuller Chapel Christian Church.
She is survived by two sons, Johnny Watkins (Vickie)and Randy Watkins (Faye) of Henderson; two step daughters, Brenda Medlin (Mickey) of Zebulon and Vickie Barker (Bill) of Henderson; three step-sons, Ricky Guerrant (Alicia) of Bunn, Steve Guerrant (Donna) of Big Stone Gap, VA, and Kip Guerrant (Mindy) of Roxboro; one sister, Jean Barbour (Bill) of Columbia, SC; two brothers, Maurice Lee Coghill, Jr (Lib) of Henderson and Phil Coghill (Nancy) of Lake Junaluska; several grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and several step great and great-great grandchildren.In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by one son, Jeff Watkins.
