HENDERSON-Samuel Justin "Sam" Rogers, age 55, a resident of 1000 S. Chestnut Street, died Wednesday, December 14, 2016.Born on December 19, 1960 in Vance County, he was the son of Nancy Bell Rogers of Henderson and the late Bobby Wayne Rogers.
Sam served in the North Carolina National Guard and was formerly employed with the cable company.He was a member of Blessed Hope Baptist Church and the Adult Sanctuary Class.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 am in the J. M. White Funeral Home Chapel by Dr. Donald A. Perkinson.Burial will follow at Sunset Gardens.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by one brother, Mike Rogers (Camilla) of Henderson; many nieces and nephews; and his step-mother, Kim Johnson Rogers of Henderson.He was preceded in death by his father, Bobby W. Rogers; his sister, Rena Elizabeth Rogers; and his brother, Matthew H. W. Rogers.
The family will receive friends at the home of his mother at 1000 S. Chestnut Street, Apt. 111 and at the home of Mike and Camilla Rogers at 450 S. Strafford Drive.
Serving as active pall bearers will be Justin Roberson, Colin Roberson, John Cash, J. J. Bell, and Curtis Pugh.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Vance County Animal Shelter, 1243 Brodie Road, Henderson, NC27537.
