Date of Service: Saturday, October 16, 2021 Time of Service: 2:00 PM LOUISBURG- Sandra McGhee Edwards, 77, died Thursday, October 14, 2021 at Franklin Oaks Nursing & Rehab. Born in Vance County on February 6, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Grover Alvin McGhee and Avie Maude Weaver McGhee, and was the widow of Charlie Allen Edwards. Sandra was retired from the Vance County Department of Social Services and also formerly worked in the medical records department of Maria Parham and the Vance County Health Department. She was a member of New Life Baptist Church. Graveside funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00 PM at Sunset Gardens by Dr. Donald A. Perkinson and Rev. Jake Roberson. She is survived by one son, Ricky Edwards (Gary) of Youngsville; her close friends Ruby McConnell and Anne House Gupton of Henderson and her faithful companion, Zoe. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Saturday from 1:30 until 2:00 PM at Sunset Gardens.
