Sarah Ellon Priest Davis, age 85, a resident of 876 Sulphur Springs Road, and a former resident of the Gillburg Community, died Sunday, March 25, 2012, at her home. Born on June 3, 1926 in Bladen County, she was the daughter of the late Franklin Priest and Lenora Jane King Priest. Mrs. Davis was a member of Unity Baptist Church where she was formerly active in the Adult Sunday School Class and the Womens Missionary Union.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 PM in the J.M. White Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Billy T. Davis and Rev. Robert Greene, Jr.Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.
She is survived by one daughter, Wanda D. Stamper of Warren County; two sons Willie Herbert Davis and Billy Thomas Davis both of Henderson; one sister, Lula Prevatt of Baltimore MD; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Lenora Elizabeth Davis; two brothers, Fred Priest and James Franklin Priest; and one sister Margarett Prevatte.
The family will receive friends Tuesday night from 7:00 until 8:30 at J.M. White Funeral Home. At other times they will be at the home at 876 Sulphur Springs Road in Warrenton.
Serving as active pall bearers will be Nathan Davis, Hill Davis, Thomas Lozada, Jerry Robertson, Dr. Marcus Abbott, Morris Sam Abbott Jr. and Morris Abbott, Sr.
