Sarah Duke Pace

HENDERSON- Sarah Alice Duke Pace, 98, of Corbitt Road, died Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at her home. Born August 28, 1926 in Vance County, she was the daughter of the late Vallie Griffin Duke and Tom Duke, Sr. and was the widow of Edward Ethrage Pace. Mrs. Pace retired from Roses Stores where she worked as a cashier. She attended Second Baptist Church and New Life Baptist Church. A graveside funeral service will be held Monday, February 24, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. at Sunset Gardens Cemetery by Pastor Marvin Ross. Mrs. Pace is survived by her son, Thomas E. “Tommy” Pace and wife, Linda of Henderson; two grandsons, Thomas E. Pace, II and David Pace; and her brother, Edison Alvah Duke of Henderson. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Tom Duke, Jr. and a sister, Flossie D. Gupton. The family will receive friends following the service on Monday at Sunset Gardens and at other times at the home, 224 Corbitt Road.
