HENDERSON- Selsus Kelly Anderson, 78, of 121 Harrison Avenue, died Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh.Born June 9, 1941, he was the son of the late Selsus Jackson Anderson and Ruth Cornelia Groover Anderson.He was a Veteran of the United States Army and attended West End Baptist Church.He was a retired life insurance agent and worked for Roses Stores Inc.He also was an avid golfer who enjoyed his Tuesday morning golf group at Green Hill Country Club in Louisburg.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:00PM in the chapel of J.M. White Funeral Home by Rev. Will Breedlove.Burial with military honors will follow at Sunset Gardens.
He is survived by a daughter, Tammy Anderson Strum (Tommy Bryant) of Henderson; a son, Selsus Gregory Anderson (Bobbie Jo Robinson) of Henderson; three grandchildren, Brandon Strum, Alec Moran and Drake Bryant; one great grandson, Jace Strum; two sisters, Barbara A. Winstead of Henderson and Pat A. Winstead of Henderson; and three brothers, Donald Anderson of Madison, Johnny Anderson of Raleigh and Butch Anderson of Henderson.
In addition to his parents was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Gray Anderson; a son, Kelly Scott Anderson; a sister, Jeanne A. Hight; and two brothers, Ronald Anderson and Bill Anderson.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30 till 2:00 PM on Friday at J.M. White Funeral Home and at other times at the home.Serving as pallbearers will be Alec Moran, Brandon Strum, Drake Bryant, Nick Machak, Austin Machak, Glenn Strum, Keith Anderson and Frankie Anderson.
