Sheila Marie Marshall, 54, passed away July 12, 2017 at Maria Parham Health in Henderson, NC.Born in Peabody, Massachusetts on January 15, 1963, she was the daughter of the late David J. and Corrine M. O’Neil.Sheila graduated Merrimack High School in New Hampshire, where she played for the girls softball team.While earning her B.A. in English at Plymouth State University, she worked at the college radio station and also wrote for the student newspaper."Sheila O" began her career in radio as an announcer, and later moved on to writing and producing commercials in the Boston market. Soon after she married Richard P. Marshall in 1992, they relocated to Raleigh, where she worked as a copywriter for advertising and real estate firms.After discovering the beauty of Kerr Lake, the couple moved to Vance County, in 2002.
Sheila had a kind heart and compassionate soul that loved to make people laugh and forget their worries. She adored her Golden Retrievers and enjoyed times spent training and playing with them.She also found working in her flower garden especially gratifying.
A celebration-of-life will be held lakeside near her residence on Pool Rock Road, August 5 at 11:00 am.Sheila is survived by Richard, her loving husband of 25 years; a sister, Sharon Heater of Melbourne, Florida; and several nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Sandra Boisvert of Melbourne, Florida.
