Shirley Overton Partin

HENDERSON- Shirley Overton Partin, age 83, a resident of Senior Citizens Home, died Monday July 16, 2012 at Maria Parham Medical Center. Born October 1, 1928 in Granville County, she was the daughter of the late Theodore Roosevelt Overton and Annie Johnson Overton.
She was a retired Supervisor at Harriett & Henderson Yarns, Inc where she worked for 43 years,
a member of Harriett Baptist Church, and was an avid bingo player.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 AM at West End Baptist Church by the Rev.
Ralph E. McGowan.Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.
She is survived by one daughter, Fern Partin Ellington of Henderson; one son, Terry L. Partin of Chicago, IL; three brothers, Pete Overton of Charlotte, Sam Overton of Henderson, and William Overton of Tucson, AZ; two grandchildren, Alexandra E. Grissom and Audie R. Ellington; and one great grandson, Jackson David Grissom.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Elmo Partin; two brothers, Durwood Hester and Monroe Overton; and four sisters, Rebecca Overton Collins, Mary Susie Overton Grissom, Mattie Bell Overton, and Sarah Overton Hight.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7:00PM till 8:30PM at J.M. White Funeral Home.At other times they will be at the home of Fern Ellington, 95 Water Front Drive in the Nutbush Community.
