APEX- Shirley Ann Bowen Pegram, 83, of Spring Arbor Court, died Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at her home. Born July 19, 1940 in Vance County, she was the daughter of the late Premond Robert Bowen and Johnie Hudson Whitt and was the widow of Isaac Russell Pegram, Sr. She was a member of Central Baptist Church and retired from Currin’s Minute Mart where she worked as the office manager. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, February 24, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. by Rev. Donnie Darr in the chapel of J.M. White Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens Cemetery. Mrs. Pegram is survived by her sons, Isaac Russell Pegram, Jr. of Henderson and Robert Gray Pegram and wife, Wendy of Apex; three grandchildren, Ashley Pegram, Lisa Pegram and John Pegram; a sister, Pat Tillotson and husband, Gary of Henderson; a brother, Robert Bowen and wife, Mary of Henderson; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1:00 P.M. at J.M. White Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers will be David Tillotson, Wayne Tillotson, William Bolton, John Pegram, Steve E. Wilson, Jr. and Glen Brame. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the Alzheimer Association of Eastern North Carolina at Alzheimer's Association of Eastern NC in remembrance of Shirley's courageous battle with the disease. The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of Spring Arbor of Cary and Apex as well as Amedisys Hospice for their care of Mrs. Pegram.
