HENDERSON-Mr. Sidney Brooks Brame, Sr., 85, a resident of 934 Avis Lane, died Wednesday, January 04, 2017 at Maria Parham Medical Center.Born in Vance County on July 24, 1931, he was the son of the late Edward Clarence Brame and Ferrell Wilson Brame.Mr. Brame was a Veteran of the United States Army having served in the Korean War.He was retired from the former Rushton Pontiac, Cadillac, Olds Dealership where he was the parts manager.After retirement he delivered papers for the Henderson Daily Dispatch. Mr. Brame was a member of West End Baptist Church and the Cothran-Pulliam Sunday School Class.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 AM at West End Baptist Church by Rev. Ralph McGowan.Burial with Military Honors will follow in Sunset Gardens.
He is survived by his wife, Mae Pegram Brame of the home; a daughter, Emily B. Owen and husband, Clay of Henderson; five sons, Sidney Brooks Brame, Jr. and wife, Wanda, Kim D. Brame and wife, Christine, Mark T. Brame and wife, Teresa, Glenn S. Brame and wife, Debbie and Craig S. Brame and wife, Pam all of Henderson; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Mr. Brame was preceded in death by one sister and seven brothers.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 till 8:00 PM at J.M. White Funeral Home. At other times they will be at the home.
Serving as pallbearers will be his grandsons, Greg Brame, Kevin Lassiter, Scott Brame, Wayne Faucette, Jason Faucette, Daniel Barnes, Dave Brame, Chris Brame, Steven Brame, Jeremy Tucker and Lee Owen.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to West End Baptist Church, Baptist Men’s Group, 619 Dabney Drive, Henderson, NC 27536.
