TOWNSVILLE-Sidney Braxton Moody, 66, a resident of 16899 Hwy. 39 N, died Sunday, June 3, 2018, at Maria Parham Health.Born on February 7, 1952 in Mecklenburg County, Virginia, he was the son of the late Charlie Frazier Moody and Daisey Elliott Moody.Sidney a graduate of V.P.I. in Blacksburg, Virginia, and was retired from Granville County Schools.He was a member of Rock Spring Baptist Church.He was actively involved with the Townsville Volunteer Fire Department where he was serving on the Board and was a former Fire Chief.
A private service will be held by the family.
He is survived by his wife Elizabeth Hazlewood Betty Moody of the home; two sons, Tony Braxton Moody of Townsville and Jeremy Clinton Moody (Suzie) of Wilton; two brothers, John A. Moody of Clarksville, Virginia and Charles E. Moody of Henderson; three grandchildren, Braxton Moody, Hunter Moody, and Waylon Moody.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, James Frazier Moody.
The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 7 until 8:30 pm at J. M. White Funeral Home.At other times they will be at the home.
