First Sgt. Stacey S. Bailey, NCSHP (retired), age 73, of 115 Kerr Lake Drive, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 3, 2011. He was a native of Benson, North Carolina before joining the Patrol.He had a distinguished career with the Patrol having served for 30 years.He was privileged to have been a Master Mason and a 32ndDegree Scottish Rites Mason.He was a longtime member of Flat Rock United Methodist Church where he was a former Sunday School Teacher.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 am at Flat Rock United Methodist Church by the Rev. Pam Gilliam and the Rev. Michael Hobbs.Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 3:00 pm in the Denning Family Cemetery on the Benson Hardee Road in Benson, NC with full North Carolina Highway Honors.
He is survived by a daughter, Denise Cheryl Bailey of Clayton; a son, Patrick Lee Bailey nd , daughter-in-law Sheri of Henderson; three grandchildren, Samantha Nicole Bailey, Taylor Marie Bailey, and Jackson Lee Bailey; a sister, Sue Lynn King of Garner; and one brother, Fred C. Bailey of Benson.He was also survived by a special friend and caretaker, Michelle Baker.He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Sue Frances Denning; his father and mother, Stewart Bailey and Mable Coats Bailey
The family will receive friends Tuesday night from 7:00 until 8:30 pm at J. M. White Funeral Home.At other times they will be at the home at 115 Kerr Lake Drive.
Serving as active pall bearers will be the North Carolina State Highway Patrol Honor Guard.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 3131 RDU Center Drive, Suite 100, Morrisville, NC 27560.
He dedicated his life to God, his family, and his career with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.
