WAKE FOREST-Steven Jay Gupton, 51, a resident of 409 Retreat Lane, passed away on Saturday, January 5, 2019.Born in Vance County on April 4, 1967, he was the son of the late Bruce Allen Gupton and Harriet Jackson Gupton.He was a Water Treatment Plant Operator for the City of Henderson and was formerly the co-owner and operator of Midnight Blue Martial Arts in Henderson.He was a leader of Helio’s Way Gracie Garage and was an active student at Embrace Martial Arts.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, January 10, 2019 at 2 PM in the Chapel of J. M. White Funeral Home by the Rev. Paul Weaklend.
He is survived by two daughters, Emily Danielle Gupton (Justin Duncan) of Wake Forest and Madison JayAnn Gupton of Henderson; one son, Gregory William Gupton of Henderson; his fiancie, Marla DeNicolais of the home; a brother, Henry L. Gupton (Madge) of Henderson; two step-children, Kinsey DeNicolais and Kyla DeNicolais of the home; two aunts, Josephine Jackson of Wake Forest and Emma Gupton of Sommerville, SC; and numerous cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a nephew, Lee Gupton.
The family will receive friends prior to the service on Thursday from 1:00 PM till 2:00 PM at J. M. White Funeral Home.
