HENDERSON- Sue Marion Amos Young, 84, of Hamlett Drive, died Monday, December 13, 2021 at Hock Family Pavilion. Born in Randolph County, AL, she was the daughter of the late Walter Pate Marion and Catherine Poore Marion Hadaway. Mrs. Young was an active member of First Baptist Church Henderson and a former deacon. A memorial service will be held Sunday, December 19, 2021 at 3:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church by Dr. Ronald S. Cava and Dr. Glenn Phillips Sue is survived by her husband, Dr. Philip M. Young of the home; two daughters, Susan A. Reaves and husband, Hank and Merri A. March and husband, Ken; a daughter-in-law, Jeanne Amos; a brother, Phillip Marion and her sister, Barbara H. Turner; eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Lewis Jerone Amos; her son, John Lewis Amos; a brother, Fred Marion; and a sister, Myra Folmar. The family will receive friends following the service on Sunday in the fellowship hall of First Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to ACTS, P.O. Box 25, 201 S. Williams Street, Henderson, NC 27536 or Hock Family Pavilion, 4023 North Roxboro Street, Durham, NC 27704. Masks are strongly recommended for attendees at the service.
