Susan Marie Mcghee

OXFORD- Susan Marie McGhee, 66, of Winfield Drive, died Saturday, April 29, 2023 at Duke University Hospital. Born October 28, 1956, she was the daughter of the late Elizabeth Jane Shaffer McGhee and Gaynor Myles McGhee. Before Susan moved to North Carolina, she worked in the Millerton Fire Department as Secretary, and was the Lieutenant of the Rescue Squad and EMT. She was a lifetime member for 18 years. She worked at Granville Hospital and later Central Regional Hospital (formerly John Umpstead Hospital) as a lab technician. She retired from CRH in 2021. A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 13, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church by Rev. Kopp. She is survived by two brothers, Gaynor Myles McGhee, Jr. (Mary) of Oceanside, CA and David McGhee (Thayel) of Millerton, NY; four nephews, Stephen, Robert, David and Matt; four grandnieces and one grandnephew. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby McGhee.
