Susie Wilson Murphy

HENDERSON-Susie Wilson Murphy, 89, a resident of Henderson, died Saturday, August 17, 2024 at Kerr Lake Nursing & Rehab. Born in Vance County on April 4, 1935, she was the daughter of the late, William Lee Wilson and Maggie Paschall Wilson, and was the widow of Eugene Thomas Murphy. She was a retired Sales Manager from the former Leggett’s Department Store and was a member of North Henderson Baptist Church. A private burial was held Monday, August 19, 2024 at Sunset Gardens. She is survived by one son, Eugene Thomas “E.T.” Murphy, Jr. of Knightdale; two sisters, Hazel Wilson Hamm of Oxford, and Dot Wilson Knight of Raleigh; and one brother, Mac Wilson (Judy) of Kittrell. In addition to parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Raymond “Chuck” Wilson, Marshall E. “Skint” Wilson, Charles L. “Rue” Wilson, and William Lee Wilson, Jr.; her sister-in-law, Millie Wilson; and her daughter-in-law, Linda Lilley Murphy.
