MANSON-Ted Grey Holloman, 74, of Aruba Lane, died Thursday, January 4, 2024 at his home. Born on February 19, 1949 in Durham County, he was the son of the late Dennis Ray Holloman and Sally Florine Howard Holloman. He is survived by his life-partner, Rhonda P. Estok of the home and their two dogs (Shadow and Bailey); two sons, Grey Holloman (Teresa) of Timberlake, and Scott Hunter Holloman of Raleigh; one grandson, Logan Grey Holloman; and one sister, Denise Holloman (Edward Bartlett) of Louisburg. He is also survived by Jennifer Healey of Colorado (Sean), Derek Revels of Fort Mill, SC, and four grandchildren (Willa and Hagen Healey, and Ashlyn and Emma Poplin-Revels) from his blended stepfamily. Ted grew up in Durham, NC and attended both Northern and Durham High School, graduating in 1967. He enjoyed staying in touch with some of his close friends from those years. After high school, Ted worked with his dad ("Dink") for many years gaining experience in construction, real estate, and auto sales. He cherished those years and his opportunity to "learn from the Master." Ted built several homes in Mason Manor in Durham and maintained his NC Real Estate license until 2023. He also spent time in the National Guard (1973). Most people know and remember Ted as the ‘car man.’ The car business was his passion. From his early years at Holloman Auto Sales in Durham to sales positions in Oxford and Henderson, he loved what he did and was one of the best in the business. But the key to his success wasn’t about the cars, it was about the people. His co-workers and customers were also his family, and he was always there for them. Random acts of kindness were the norm for Ted, and his customers knew and trusted that he would take care of them…and he always did. After retiring from the car business in 2019, Ted was able to spend time enjoying lake life at their home on Kerr Lake. And while he missed his work family, he loved being able to spend time outdoors, time with the dogs, going on golf-cart rides, pontoon rides, listening to his beach music, having family gatherings, and sunset cruises on the lake. Ted loved life and tried to live every day to the fullest. He always expressed feeling very blessed and grateful for the good life he had. The cup was always half full for him. Storytelling, laughter, his sense of humor, and being the resident ‘Kenny Rogers” were his hallmarks, and through his kindness and his care and concern for others, he touched the lives of many people along the way. A visitation will be held Thursday, January 11, 2024 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at J. M. White Funeral Home. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Ruin Creek Animal Protection Society, 165 US 158-Bypass, Henderson, NC 27537 or to a charity of one’s choice.
