HENDERSON-Thomas Vines "Tommy" Bobbitt V, age 56, a resident of 2394 Kelly Road, died Saturday, May 7, 2016 at his home.Born in Vance County on October 9, 1959, he was the son of Betty Grissom Bobbitt of Henderson and the late Thomas Vines Bobbitt, IV.Tommy was a tobacco farmer and a member of Rehoboth United Methodist Church.
He attended East Carolina University and graduated from North Carolina State University.
Funeral services will be held Monday, May 9, 2016, at 4 pm in the J. M. White Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Will Breedlove.Burial will follow in the Rehoboth United Methodist Church Cemetery.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Cynthia Parrott Bobbitt of the home; one brother, Johnny Sterling Bobbitt, Sr. (Donna) of Henderson; mother-in-law, Ernestine Parrott of Oxford; sister-in-law, Sherri Parrott Frazier (Frank) of Oxford; one niece, Ashley Bobbitt Ward (Michael); four nephews, Johnny Sterling Bobbitt, Jr., Joshua Scott Bobbitt, Franklin Mitchell Frazier (Brittany) and Chad Reynolds Frazier; one great niece, Riley Marie Ward; and one great nephew, Michael Mason Ward.He was preceded in death by one sister, Susan Bobbitt Taylor; and his father-in-law, Carl Parrott.
The family will receive friends prior to the service on Monday from 2:30 until 4 pm at J. M. White Funeral Home.At other times they will be at the home.
Serving as active pall bearers will be Greg Wright, Wayne Grissom, Dale Reese, Joshua Bobbitt, Mitchell Frazier, and Chad Frazier.
