HENDERSON-Thomas Lewis Tommy Fuller, age 88, a resident of 5429 158 Business, died Saturday, May 02, 2015, in a local nursing home.Born in Vance County on September 26, 1926 in Vance County, he was the son of the late John William Fuller and Elizabeth Edwards Fuller, and was the widower of Mary Leigh Wilkerson Fuller.He was retired from Universal Leaf Tobacco Company.He was a member of First Congregation Christian Church where he was a former Deacon and Trustee. Tommy was a member of the former Henderson Jaycees, a past President and Secretary of the former Henderson Exchange Club, a past Worthy Matron of the James B. White Chapter #199 of The Eastern Star, a member andpast President of theHenderson Shrine Club and theHenderson Masonic Lodge # 229 AF & AM, and a member of the Amran Shrine Temple in Raleigh.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 am in the J. M. White Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. George Williams and the Rev. Wayne Clark.Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.
He is survived by one daughter, Patricia F. Hughes and husband, Fred of the home; two grandchildren, Leigh Hughes Ballance and husband, Frankie and Thomas Scott Hughes and wife, Wanda; two great grandchildren, Stephanie Stacy Phinney and husband, Sean, and Oliver Donald Stacy, Jr. and wife, Nicole; five great great grandchildren, Jesse Lee, Savannah, Georgia, Wyatt, and Jacob.In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one great grandchild, Becky Stacy.
The family will receive friends Monday morning prior to the service from 10 until 11 am at J. M. White Funeral Home.At other times they will be at the home at 5429 158 Business.
Serving as active pall bearers will be Todd Wilkerson, Tim Bellows, Cam Humphries, Tommy Hughes, D.J. Stacy, Frankie Ballance. Danny Wilkerson, and Bill Owen, Jr.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to First Congregation Christian Church, c/o Sara Davis, 1102 Closs Court, Henderson, NC27536 or the Shriners Hospital for children, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, Florida33607.
