Thomas Aaron Tommy Peoples, Sr., age 71, a resident of 231 Abbott Road, died Thursday, February 10, 2011, at Franklin Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation in Louisburg.Born on September 3, 1939 in Vance County, he was the son of the late Elijah Lee Peoples and Myrtle Perry Peoples.He was a Veteran of the United States Navy and was retired from Viking Sprinkler Co.He was a member of South Henderson Pentecostal Holiness Church, the All For Him Sunday School Class, and The Mens Fellowship.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 3:00 pm at South Henderson Pentecostal Holiness Church by the Rev. Frank Sossamon.Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.
He is survived by his wife, Cecelia Williams Peoples of the home; two daughters, Patricia P. Driver and husband, Darvin and Tammy P. Thompson and husband, Craig all of Louisburg; one son, Thomas Aaron Peoples, Jr. and wife, Melinda of Henderson; one step-daughter, Pam R. Rooker and husband, Scott of Kittrell; one step-son, Ernie A. Robinson and fiance, Sherri Jeffreys of Henderson; two brothers, Dennie Ray Peoples, Sr. and wife, Mary Ann, and Jackie Wayne Peoples, Sr. and wife, Pat all of Henderson; two sisters, Emma P. Lee and husband, Bob of Durham, and Donna P. Fogleman and husband, Frank of Henderson; twelve
grandchildren, Eddie Peoples, Robbie Peoples, Matt Edwards, Joey Edwards, Jessie Driver, Trey Peoples, Katie Thompson, Tyler Rooker, Cullom Rooker, Ashleigh Robinson, Dylan Robinson, and Cassie Robinson; seventeen nieces and nephews; and thirty-five great nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by two sisters, Margie P. Hoyle and Peggy P. Clark.
The family will receive friends Saturday night from 7:00 until 8:30 pm at J. M. White Funeral Home.At other times they will be at the home at 231 Abbott Road.
Serving as active pall bearers will be Eddie Peoples, Matt Edwards, Robbie Peoples, Tyler Rooker, Randy Hoyle, Ray Peoples, Eddie Lee, Jackie Peoples, Jr., Roger Clark, and Ernest Robinson.
