Thomas Truman Travis, Sr., age 69, a resident of 819 Orange St., died Wednesday August 13, 2014 at his home. Born June 17, 1945 in Vance Co.,he was the son of the late Walton Preston Travis and Vandora Weaver Travis. He was a retired mechanic at Travis Auto Parts.
Memorial services will be held Monday at 2 pm at the J. M. White Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Aubrey Florence.
He is survived by two daughters, Beverly Travis and Deborah Travis both of Henderson; three sons, Thomas Truman Travis, Jr., Michael Lynn Thomas, Sr., and Donnie Ray Travis, Sr. all of Henderson; five sisters, Sal T. Turner, Gail T. Grissom, and Myrtle T. Turner all of Durham, Nannie Sue T. Glascock of Henderson and Carolyn T. Crowder of Oxford; one brother, Charlie Walton Travis of Henderson; 18 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Dolly Jackson Travis.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the J. M. White Funeral Home. At other times they will be at the home of Thomas T. Travis Jr., 3877 Dabney Rd.
