Thomas Kingler White

Thomas Klingler White, age 89, a resident Henderson, died Saturday, December 18, 2010, in a local nursing home.Born in Vance County on April 2, 1921, he was the son of the late Fletcher White and Mary Gill White.Mr. White was a graduate of Middleburg High School, and was a Veteran of the United States Navy serving during World War II.He was retired from Harriett & Henderson Yarns, Inc. and was a lifetime member of Flat Rock United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:00 pm at Flat Rock United Methodist Church by the Rev. Pam Gilliam.Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Military Honors.
There are no immediate survivors.He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Hight White; one brother, Adolphus Gill White; and one sister, Margaret Chinera White.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the Fellowship Hall of Flat Rock United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Flat Rock United Methodist Church, c/o Mrs. Jennie W. Parrott, 1380 Horseshoe Bend Road, Henderson, NC 27537.
