Thurston "Tj" Julius

HENDERSON- Thurston “TJ” Julius, 65, of Parker Lane, went home to be with the Lord Friday, November 5, 2021 at Duke University Medical Center. Born in Vance County on May 20, 1956, he was the son of the late Thurston Julius Pendergrass, Sr. and Geneva Lewis Pendergrass. He was the owner and operator of Thurston Julius Haircutting, a successful barber shop, where he was loved by all for more than 45 years. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 13, 2021 at 2:00 PM at South Henderson Church of God by Rev. Mark Bateman. A private burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. TJ is survived by his wife, Melba Paul Julius of the home; his daughter, Gabrielle Julius Ellison and husband, Patrick of Raleigh; and four sisters, Trudy P. Wilson and husband, Larry, Judy P. Stokes and husband, Linwood, Linda P. Barker and husband, Lewis, and Geneva P. Weaver and husband, Donnie, all of Henderson. The family will receive friends prior to the service at South Henderson Church of God on Saturday from 12:30 PM until 2:00PM.
