OXFORD-Timothy Lee Newton, Sr., 55, a resident of Oxford, died on Thursday, June 6, 2024. Born in Vance County on October 25, 1968, he was the son of the late Clyde Lynwood Newton, Sr. and Shirley Munn Newton. He was the owner and operator of the former Newton’s Roofing, and was of the Baptist Faith. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 10, 2024 at 11:00 AM in the J. M. White Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Jay Jarrell. Burial will follow in the New Sandy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. He is survived by two sons, Justin Newton and Cody Newton both of Henderson; one daughter, Abby Newton of Henderson; three granddaughters, Brianna Newton, Asia Newton Santiago, and Brooklyn Newton; four sisters, Wanda Cooper (Ricky) of Clayton, Pam Johnson (Donald) of Youngsville, Anita Newcomb and Betty Gill of Henderson; and two brothers, Clyde Newton, Jr. (Laura) of Henderson and Richard Newton (Kate) of Holly Springs. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Timothy L. Newton, Jr. The family will receive friends on Monday prior to the service from 10:00 until 11:00 AM at J. M. White Funeral Home. Serving as active pall bearers will be D. J. Johnson, Donald Johnson, Ricky Cooper, Sam Sanderson, William McCann, and Zackery Short.
