Troy H. Dickerson

Mebane- Troy H. Dickerson, age 94, a resident of, Mebane and formerly of Henderson, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 06, 2017 at Hospice Home of Alamance in Burlington. Born in Vance County on November 20, 1922 he was the son of the late William Sydney Dickerson and Nora Pearl Vaughan Dickerson.He was a Veteran of the United States Army, served in World War II and was a Purple Heart recipient.
He attended Raleigh Road Baptist Church and Gillburg United Methodist Church. He retired from the former Henderson Laundry after over 50 years of employment.
A service to celebrate his life will be held Saturday at 2:00 PM in the chapel of J.M. White Funeral Home by Elder Travis Parker.Burial with military honors will follow in Sunset Gardens.
Mr. Dickerson is survived by three daughters, Bonnie Dickerson of Mebane, Judy Dickerson Satterwhite (Brad) and Lisa Dickerson both of Henderson; a sister, Janet D. Harper of Graham, and Blanche D. Stainback of Henderson; two grandchildren, Roxanne McGhee and Candace Parker; five great grandchildren; and five great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Abbott Dickerson; his son, Dennis Ray Dickerson; six sisters; two brothers; and two grandchildren, Tonya and Kenny McGhee.
The family will receive friends Saturday prior to the service at J.M. White Funeral Home from 12:00 P.M. till 1:45 P.M.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Troy H. Dickeron Funeral Fund, C/O J.M. White Funeral Home, 60 Zeb Robinson Road, Henderson, NC 27536.
