HENDESON-Violet Katherine "Kat" Wiggins Collier, age 76 , a resident of 5392 NC Hwy. 39 S, died Saturday, June 18, 2016, at her home.Born in Granville County on April 18, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Alfred Wiggins and Mable Carden Wiggins.Kat was a retired bookkeeper at Southern Laundry.She was a former member of Peace Free Will Baptist Church and attended Unity Baptist Church.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 3 pm at Sunset Gardens by the Rev. Calvin Hedgepeth.
She is survived by her husband, Willis Ray Collier, Sr. of the home; three daughters, Brenda Faulkner (Jimmy) of Middleburg, Teresa Matthews of Kittrell, and Linda Harris (Russell) of Henderson; one son, Charles Matthews (Margie) of Henderson; two step-daughters, Gwen Robinson and Lisa Collier (Kim) of Henderson; one step-son, Ray Collier, Jr. (Dolores) of Henderson; one brother, Bobby Wiggins of Henderson; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren, five step-grandchildren; five step great grandchildren; and her faithful 4 legged companion, "Rosie". In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Vernon Wiggins, William Wiggins, Joe Wiggins, Virginia Inscoe, Annie Gupton, and Peggy Clopton; and her son-in-law, Allen Wayne "Buck" Matthews.
The family will receive friends at the home at 5392 NC Hwy. 39 South.
