Virgie May Pendergrass

HENDERSON-Virgie May Pendergrass, 93, a resident of Weldon’s Mill Road, died Tuesday, January 25, 2022, in a local nursing home. Born in Franklin County, she was the daughter of the late Jimmy Pendergrass and Roda Loyd Pendergrass. She was employed with the former Henderson Camp Products and was a member of New Sandy Creek Baptist Church and attended Unity Baptist Church. Graveside funeral services will be held Monday, January 31, 2022, at 2:00 PM in the New Sandy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery by the Rev. Calvin Hedgepeth. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Lucy P. Patterson; and five brothers, Edgar Pendergrass, Wesley Pendergrass, Lonnie “Honey” Pendergrass, Willis Pendergrass, and James “Dick” Pendergrass. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Due to COVID -19 restrictions, everyone attending the funeral is asked to wear appropriate face coverings and observe social distancing.
