Virgie Lawson Tucker

Virgie Lawson Tucker, 91, a resident of Garden Walk Drive, died Saturday, April 29, 2023 at her home. Born on September 26, 1931 in Vance County, she was the daughter of the late Hugh H. Lawson and Annie Blanche Reid Lawson, and was the widow of Edward Furman Tucker, Sr. She was a former employee of Americal Corporation and was a member of South Henderson Pentecostal Holiness Church. Graveside funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Sunset Gardens by the Rev. Jerry Reid Nelson. She is survived by one daughter, Betty Tucker Lewis of Henderson; two sons, Edward F. “Eddie” Tucker, Jr (Spring). of Henderson and Ricky Alan Tucker of Raleigh; three grandchildren, Joel Rodrick Lewis (Kelli), Rev. Nicholas Andrew Tucker (Alyssa) and Francine Michelle Hobbs; three great grandchildren, Joel Robert Lewis, Rhett Henry Tucker, and Emily Carol Hobbs; two sisters, Charlotte Lawson House and June Lawson Harp (Alton); and one brother, William F. “Billy” Lawson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Millie Jean Tucker and Judith Carol Reynolds; two sisters, Kennon Lawson Lassiter and Laurice Lawson Faucette; and two brothers, Furnie Lawson and Eddie Bob Lawson; two sons-in-laws James Rodrick Lewis, and Anthony Earl Reynolds. The family will receive friends following the service at Sunset Gardens and at other times they will be at her home, 135 Garden Walk Drive
