Virginia Edwards Bowers

Essie Virginia Jennie Edwards Bowers, age 89, a resident of Franklin Oaks Nursing & Rehab., died Wednesday, February 16, 2011.Born in Vance County on October 19, 1921, she was the daughter of the late William Jasper Edwards and Ora Neal Edwards.
A graveside funeral service will be held Friday at 2:00 pm at Sunset Gardens by the Rev. Ricky Easter.
She is survived by two sons, Jerry Taylor of Henderson and Freddie Taylor of Louisburg; two step-sons, Jerry Bowers of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Billy Bowers; two sisters, Joyce Pool of Kittrell and Dot Winters Smith of Henderson; four grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husband, William Ernest Bowers, Jr. who died on January 30, 2011; one son, Gene Taylor; three brothers, Benjamin Edwards, William Biddie Edwards and Clarence Buck Edwards; and three sisters, Mary Journigan, Edith Boyd, and Mamie Sis Faulkner.
The family will receive friends Friday from 12:30 until 1:30 pm prior to the service at J. M. White Funeral home.
Arrangements are by J. M. White Funeral Home.
