ROLESVILLE- Mrs. Virginia Stainback McLemore, age 91 of Rolesville, passed away September 9th, 2023, after an extended illness. She was born in Henderson, NC on July 1, 1932 to William Atley and Pearl M. Stainback. Virginia is survived by her sons, Amos L. McLemore III of Wake Forest NC, Jonathan K. McLemore and his wife Barbara of Rolesville NC, granddaughter Jenna Brock McLemore, step-granddaughters Kristen and Stephanie Johnson and step great grandchildren Olivia and Aiden. She is also survived by her brothers, Grady (Phyllis) Stainback of Middleburg NC and Bobby (Peggy) Stainback of Franklin Va. as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Amos Leslie (Les) McLemore Jr. Virginia was also preceded in death by her sisters, Josephine Cohen, Gladys Dickerson, brothers Wilbert Stainback and Alton Stainback. Virginia was a devoted wife to Les for 63 years and loving mom to her boys. The McLemore home served as the unofficial "recreation center" in Rolesville before organized sports came to town. Many an afternoon and evening were spent by Virginia preparing snacks and meals for the many children playing at or visiting the McLemore home. She was happiest at home with her family, cooking, watching her soaps or listening to her Elvis records. Special thanks are given to Barbara McLemore, who was her primary caregiver for the last years of her life. Her selfless dedication and care allowed Virginia to remain in the comfort of her home during her extended illness.
