Virginia Watkins Pulley

HENDERSON-Virginia Watkins Pulley, age 87, a resident of 3530 N. Lynnbank Road, died Saturday, October 22, 2016, in a local nursing home.Born on July 26, 1929 in Mecklenburg County, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late James O. Watkins and Rhoda Evans Watkins, and was the widow of William Porter Pulley.
Mrs. Pulley was a homemaker and a member of Union Chapel United Methodist Church and the Union Bible Class.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 am at Union Chapel United Methodist Church by the Rev. Joseph Precht.Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
She is survived by two daughters, Bonnie P. Collier of Henderson and Kathleen P. Vaughn of Creedmoor; one son, David W. Pulley and wife, Patof Henderson; one brother, Lawrence E. Watkins of Garner; five grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Sunday night from 7 until 8:30 pm at J. M. White Funeral Home and at other times at her home at 3530 N. Lynnbank Road. Serving as active pall bearers will be Allen Edwards, Greg Gupton, Larry Pulley, Jeremy Jackson, James Jackson, Tony Sanford, Roger Hunt, and Glen Watkins.
