OXFORD-Virginia Smith Woodlief, age 92, a former resident of Wilton, died Tuesday, July 15, 2014.She was a native of Wake County and the daughter of the late Clarence Smith and Eleanor Smith and thewidow of Pender L. Woodlief.She was a member of Brassfield Baptist Church where she served as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, WMU Director, a member of the choir, and participated in all church activities until she became disabled.She was a hair stylist and retired from Baldwin Beauty Salon in Durham where she worked for many years.She enjoyed life, enjoyed traveling, loved her family and friends and her church.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, July 18, at 11:00 AM at Brassfield Baptist Church by Rev. Drew Grumbles and Rev. Neil Woodlief.
She is survived by a son, Rev. Neil Woodlief and wife Ann of Oxford; one granddaughter, Pamela Woodlief Kearney and husband Tony of Franklinton; one great-granddaughter, Brittany Kearney of Greenville and one sister, Betty S. Strahley of Delaware.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Clifton Smith.
The family will receive visitors at J.M. White Funeral Home in Henderson, Thursday night from 7:00 PM until 8:30 PM and at other times at the home of Neil and Ann Woodlief, 3179 Sam Usry Road, Oxford.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Brassfield Baptist Church, 2072 Hwy 96, Creedmoor, NC 27522.
