HENDERSON-William Marshall Evans, age 67, a resident of 209 Perry Street, died Saturday, June 4, 2016, at Maria Parham Medical Center.Born on November 21, 1948 in Vance County, he was the son of the late Ashby Dorsey Evans and Mary Fuller Pace Evans.He was a Veteran of the United States Army and served in the North Carolina National Guard.Marshall was the owner and operator of A. D. Evans Grocery in Manson and grew up in the First Baptist Church of Henderson.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday at 11 AM in Elmwood Cemetery
by Dr. Ronald S. Cava.
He is survived by one sister, Mary Carolyn Evans Walser (Michael) of Boca Raton, FL; his sister-in-law, Mary Taylor Evans of Raleigh; one nephew, Nicholas Taylor Evans of Raleigh; one aunt, Hazel Pace Peck of Henderson; and numerous cousins.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Ashby Dorsey Evans, Jr. and John Nicholas Evans.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service at Elmwood Cemetery.
