Wade Miller Davis

RALEIGH- Wade Miller Davis, 90, of Quail Hollow Drive, died Friday, January 21, 2022 at Transitions Lifecare. Born July 26, 1931 in Vance County, he was the son of the late Mabel Edwards Davis and George Horace Davis. He was a graduate of Henderson High School Class of 1949 and was a graduate of East Carolina University in 1953 with a Degree in Industrial Arts. He served two years in the United States Army during the Korean War. Wade had a long and successful career in commercial construction in the DC and Raleigh areas retiring from Sears Contract, Inc. in 2011. He served on the Advisory Board for East Carolina University’s Construction Management Department from 1985 until 2011 and was a lifetime member of the triangle chapter of the Construction Estimators Association. A private graveside service with military honors will be held in the Union Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery by The Rev. Elizabeth Burgess. Mr. Davis is survived by his wife, Lynda Gullie Davis of the home; one daughter, Evelyn Davis Booth (Greg) of Lynchburg, Virginia; two sons, Wade Miller Davis, Jr. of Lynchburg, Virginia and George Clayton Davis (Deborah) of Marion, South Carolina; one step-daughter, Melissa Rickman Cumber (Mike) of Garner; six grandchildren, Ashley Booth Shaffer, Brandon Davis, Jason Davis, Savannah Booth, Alexander Davis Booth, and Caitlin Vincent; and thirteen great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Jake Austin Vincent; his sister, Elizabeth Edwards Cilley; and one brother, Thomas W.
