Walter Ernest Griffin

HENDERSON- Walter Ernest “W.E.” Griffin, Jr., 73, of Community House Road, died Sunday, March 19, 2023 at his home. Born April 16, 1949 in Nash County, he was the son of the late Walter Ernest Griffin, Sr. and Odell Dunn Griffin. He previously was employed with Coca-Cola Bottling Company and Harriett and Henderson Yarns. Funeral services will be held Saturday, 25, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. at Blessed Hope Baptist Church by Dr. Donnie Perkinson. Burial will follow at Sunset Gardens. He is survived by two daughters, Dana Stamps (Cliff) of Roxboro and Evelyn Overby of the home; five grandchildren, Michael Walker, Jr. (Christalina), Ryan Walker, Bryan Walker, J.D. Stamps and Taylor Walker; two great grandchildren, Quinn Walker and Lucas Walker; and a nephew, Ernest Ayscue. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Griffin Felts; two half-brothers, Robert Griffin and Jack Griffin; a niece, Rhonda F. Ellis; and a nephew, Charles Felts. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Saturday from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. at Blessed Hope Baptist Church and at other times at the home of Elaine Medlin, 1816 S. Clearview Drive, Henderson, NC 27537. Serving as pallbearers will be J.D. Stamps, Ryan Walker, Bryan Walker, Ryan Medlin, Ernest Ayscue and Brandon Wirtz.
