HENDERSON-Walter Edd Boss Hight, Jr., age 85, a resident of Senior Citizens Nursing Home, and a former resident of Parham Road, died Thursday, January 29, 2015 at Duke University Medical Center.Born in Wilmington, NC on March 7, 1929, he was the son of the late Walter Edd Hight, Sr. and Lottie Lorena Honeycutt Hight. Walter Edd was a graduate of Campbell College and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.He served in the United States Air Force from 1951-1953.He was a retired Real Estate Broker and Auctioneer for more than 40 years, and was a member of First United Methodist and the Mens Sunday School Class.
A memorial service will be held Saturday March 7, 2015 at 2 pm in Rose Chapel of the First United Methodist Church by Rev. Terry Huffines.
He is survived by his children , Walter Edd Sandy Hight, III of MD, Kathy H. Culbertson and husband Krispen of Brown Summit, Russell Anthony Rusty Hight and wife Christaof Henderson and Nancy Elizabeth Hight of Cedar Grove; four grandchildren, Dusty Hight, Daniel Hight, Arrington Culbertson and Ainsley Culbertson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Overton Hight; and one sister, Mary Elizabeth Pearce McKeown.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service in Rose Chapel.
