Henderson- Warren John Lotz, age 87, a resident of 143 Dabney Woods Lane, died Tuesday February 4, 2014 at Granville Medical Center.Born May 12, 1926 in Fort Wayne, IN he was the son of the late Herman Martin Lotz and Wilhelmina Reckeweg Lotz. A Veteran of the United States Navy, he served in WW II aboard the USS Alabama.He was a former attorney and prosecutor and retired judge in Ohio.Mr. Lotz was also a member of the Masonic Lodge and Shriners in Ohio.He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Henderson.
A memorial service will be held Thursday at 11:00 AM by Pastor Edgar A. Vergara Millan in the chapel of J.M. White Funeral Home.
Mr. Lotz is survived by three daughters, Joyce Lotz of Henderson, Deborah L. Stukey of Buckhead Georgia and Susan L. Nicholas and husband Mike of Henderson; two grandchildren, Michael Nicholas, II and wife Meagan and Michaela Nicholas; one great-granddaughter, Madison; and two special caregivers, Frank Diemer and Melissa Hughes.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce C. Castleman.
The family will receive friends following the service on Thursday at J.M. White Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Mike and Sue Nicholas, 143 Dabney Woods Ln, Henderson, NC 27537.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church Youth Group, 114 Church Street, Henderson, NC 27536.
