HENDERSON- Waverly Donald "Don" Woodruff, 78, of Satterwhite Point Road, died Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at Maria Parham Health. Born in Vance County on November 2, 1941, he was the son of the late Waverly Pierce Woodruff and Willie Catlett Woodruff and was the widower of Ferebee McGhee Woodruff.Don was the founder and owner of Woodruff Trucking Company and attended South Henderson Pentecostal Holiness Church.He loved music, playing his guitar and performing with his band, "Don Woodruff and The Country Roads" in his younger years.Don was a loving father, grandfather and was generous to all he knew.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a private graveside service will be held at Sunset Gardens on Friday by Rev. David Barnett.
Don is survived by two daughters, Spring W. Tucker (Eddie) and Cindy W. Lloyd (Tim), all of Henderson; two grandchildren, Morgan Lloyd of Garner and Nicholas Tucker (Alyssa) of Franklinton; and two brothers, Alvin Woodruff and Gene Woodruff both of Henderson.
If anyone wishes to view the body they may do so on Thursday from 1:00pm until 5:00pm at J.M. White Funeral Home.
