Wayne Rabon Reid

HENDERSON- Wayne Rabon Reid, 86, of Norwood Street, died Monday, June 12, 2023 at a local nursing home. Born May 4, 1937 in Vance County, he was the son of the late William Reid and Mada Cash Reid. Wayne was a Veteran of the United States Army. He was an accomplished musician having played with major Nashville acts on the Opry Circuit in Europe. He enjoyed reading and illustrating graphic novels. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 17, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of J.M. White Funeral Home by Rev. Jeff Prewer. He is survived by his wife, Monika Herwig Reid of the home; his son, Dean H.W. Reid of Garner, two grandsons, Michael Dean Reid and Timothy William Reid; a great grandchild; his sister, Alice Pegram of Oxford; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Earl Reid and Herbert Reid and four minor aged brothers. The Reid Family appreciates the many acts of kindness and expressions of sympathy they have been shown following Wayne's passing. The family will receive friends following the service on Saturday at J.M. White Funeral Home.
