Wesley Franklin Jackson, 79, of 201 Forest Hills Drive, died Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at Universal Health Care in Oxford.Born on November 26, 1938 in Durham County, he was the son of the late Ottis Franklin Jackson and Arlillian Parker Jackson.Wesley was retired from the Vance County School System where he worked as the head of the Drivers Education Department.He was a member of First Baptist Church Henderson where he formerly sang in the Chancel Choir.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, September 9, 2018 at 4:00 PM in Leathers Memorial Chapel at First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Tomlinson "Peggy" Jackson of the home; his daughter, Margaret Jackson and husband, Pavan K.P. of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania; his son, Parker Barrett Jackson of Charlotte; and his uncle, George Willard Laws of Raleigh.
The family will receive friends following the service in the Fellowship Hall at First Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Henderson, PO Box 75, Henderson, NC 27536 for either the Music Ministry or Childrens Ministry.
