Wesley Graham Knott

Wesley Graham Knott, 74, passed away August 16, 2024 in Raleigh. Born January 30, 1950, in Henderson, he was a cherished member of his community and a devoted servant to his church, Liberty Chirstian Church. Wesley spent his career as a cable repairman with Embarq Telephone Company, where his commitment to connectivity mirrored his personality; he was always ready to lend an ear or a helping hand. His dedication extended beyond his professional life into his service with the Epsom Lions Club and his church where he served diligently as a deacon, usher, and trustee. His military service in the National Guard reflected his dedication to his country, serving with honor and forming lasting bonds with his fellow guardsmen. He was a former member of Epsom Volunteer Fire Department. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at 3:00 P.M. at Liberty Christian Church, 7818 NC Hwy 39S, Henderson, NC 27537 by Rev. Burwell Stark and Rev. Jake Roberson. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Wesley is survived by his wife of 54 years, Denise Tharrington Knott, his half- sister, Tannis Rudder (Jimmy) of Oxford, his niece, Cary R. Corum and her son, Keegan of Greensboro; and his nephew, Jamie Rudder (Marie) of Winterville. He was preceded in death by his father, P.W. Knott, his mother, Hazel Reams Knott and his brother, Mike Knott. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Wednesday from 2:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. at Liberty Christian Church; at other times they will be at the home of Pam and Phil Grissom, 32 Walter Bowen Road, Henderson, NC. Serving as active pallbearers will be Phil Grissom, David Edwards, Wayne Moss, Mike Hayes, James Rudder, Jr. and Richard Hoyle. Serving as honorary pallbearers with be Stanley Keith and Buck Edwards. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Liberty Christian Church, C/O Mattie May, 1887 Epsom Rocky Ford Road, Henderson, NC 27537.
