William "Bill" Patrick Dickerson

Nashville TN- William Patrick “Wild Bill” Dickerson, 67, of Nashville, TN died Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at Trevecca Center for Rehabilitation and Healing after a brief illness. He was born in Wake County, NC on November 29, 1954 to the late John Hillman and Anne Small Dickerson. Bill graduated from Vance Senior High School in 1974 and was a member of The First Baptist Church, Henderson, NC. Wild Bill worked in the music industry for many years driving tour buses for some of the biggest country and pop stars in the world. He was a very friendly, giving and lovable person, helping anyone who needed a hand up. If you ever met him, you didn’t forget him. He was a happy go lucky man, looked like Santa Claus but loved to pull a prank with a straight face. Wild Bill was one of the last of his generation who could repair anything with an engine or fiber glass. He restored classic cars and trucks to their former glory and brought antiques back to life that others had given up on. He is survived by two sisters, Beth Hoyle (Mike) of Durham, NC, Sarah Dickerson of Greenville, NC; a brother, John Dickerson (Nancy) of Wake Forest, NC; a sister-in-law, Joanie Dickerson of Kittrell, NC; nieces and nephews, Elisabeth Hoyle, Will Hoyle (Kerry), Meredith Wilkins (Scotty), Hill Dickerson (Amanda), Kathryn Coley (Cam), Patrick Dickerson (Stephanie), Lin Bunting (Ashley), Jeffrey Bunting (Taylor), Cameron Talley (Ashley), David Skeeter (Josh); 19 great nieces and nephews; aunts and uncles, Fuller and Tommy Spencer of Sugarland, TX, Sandra and David Small of Reidsville, NC, Becky Dickerson of Statesville, NC; and many special cousins. He also had close friends in Nashville, TN, too numerous to count. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his brother Jeffrey Small “Jeff” Dickerson. A visitation to celebrate Wild Bill’s life will be held Saturday, December 3rd , 2022 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, casual attire, at J. M. White Funeral Home, Henderson, NC. Bill’s ashes will be buried in a private ceremony at Reidlawn Cemetery, Reidsville, NC, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family request you make a contribution to the charity of your choice.
