William "Bill" Reaves Dickerson

William Reaves Bill Dickerson, age 82, a resident of 118 Cherry Street, died Thursday, January 23, 2014, in a local nursing home.Born on November 30, 1931 in Granville County, he was the son of the late John Thomas Dickerson and Fannie Faucette Dickerson.He was a retired owner and operator of Bills Exxon and Chestnut Shell, and was a member of Corinth Baptist Church in Wilton, NC.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 26, 2014, at 3 pm in the J. M. White Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Frank Sossamon.Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia Williamson Dickerson of the home; one daughter, Wanda D. Tart of Henderson; one son, Wayne Lindsey Dickerson of Henderson; five sisters, Betty Sue Crews of Oxford, Edna Barber of Goldston, Jenny Russell of Creedmoor, Jane Bridges of Franklinton, and Maryanna Odom of Siler City; two brothers, Thomas Dickerson of Sanford and Tony Dickerson of Franklinton; five grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by one brother, Walter L. Dickerson; and one sister Thelma Yow.
The family will receive friends Saturday night from 7 until 8:30 pm at J. M. White Funeral Home.At other times they will be at the home at 118 Cherry Street.
Serving as active pall bearers will be Michael Tart, Barry Tart, Nicholas Tart, Neil Crews, James Ball, and Jim Myers.
