William Hugh "Jack" Edwards, Sr., age 87, a resident of 756 Faulkner Town Road died Tuesday, February, 27, 2018, at Maria Parham Health. Born on March 30, 1930 in Franklin Country, he was the son of the late Marvin Edwards and Lizzie Ayscue Edwards. He was a retired supervisor from Carolina Power & Light Company, and was a founding member of Unity Baptist Church, where he was a choir member.
A graveside service will be held Friday at 11 am at Sunset Gardens by the Rev. Calvin Hedgepeth and theRev. Jeff Prewer.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Emily Edwards Edwards of the home; three sons, William Edwards and wife, Dianne, and Carlton Wade Tad Edwards and wife, Peggy, all of Henderson, and Mike Edwards and wife, Linda, of Epsom; eight grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Edwards Woodlief; one brother, D.W. Edwards; and one great grandchild, Crystal Lynn Hight.
The family will receive friends following the service at Sunset Gardens. At other times they will be at the home.
