William Ellis Hester

HENDERSON- Mr. William Ellis Billy Hester, age 79, a resident of 3133 Thomas Road, died Monday, March 2, 2015 at his home.Born in Vance County on February 28, 1936 he was the son of the late William Henry Hester and Doris Ellis Hester.He was a member of Island Creek Baptist Church and the G.W. Norwood Sunday School Class.He was also a member of Henderson Masonic Lodge #229 AF & AM and Henderson York Rite Bodies.Mr. Hester was retired from Vance County where he served as Director of Emergency Operations.
A memorial service will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM at Island Creek Baptist Church by Rev. Marshall Neathery.
He is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth Hester Jackson and husband Blake of Henderson; a son, William Ellis Hester, Jr. of Henderson; and five grandchildren, Tyler B. Jackson and wife Jennifer, Victoria Jackson, Leah Jackson, Morgan Hester and Alex Hester.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carleen Cain Hester.
The family will receive friends Saturday following the service in the fellowship hall of Island Creek Baptist Church.
