William P. "Billy" Payne Edmonds, Jr.

Born on January 10, 1938 in Pitt County, he was the son of William Payne Edmonds, Sr. and Evelyn Inez Davis Edmonds.
Billy was a member of New Sandy Creek Baptist Church and the Larry Johnson Sunday School Class.He was a retired insurance agent, was employed with Carolina Bed Center, and was a member of the Henderson Masonic Lodge #229 for over 50 years. He enjoyed quail hunting, training his dogs, all sports, following his grandsons football and baseball through coaching experiences, his Tuesday night dates with his granddaughter, Allyson, and all time spent with his family.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 am at New Sandy Creek Baptist Church by the Rev. Tim Burgess.Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.
He is survived by one daughter, Evelyn Gay (fianc, Chuck Webb) of Hampstead; and one son, William P. Edmonds, III (Tracey) of Henderson; three grandchildren, Jason Parker Gay, Allyson Paige Gay, and Krystie Webb; one brother, Alex Edmonds (Becky) and their daughter, Lindsey E. Bloodworth of Simpsonville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Rawles Edmonds.
The family will receive friends Friday night from 7 until 8:30 pm at J. M. White Funeral Home. At other times they will be at the home of William and Tracey Edmonds at 1070 Anderson Creek Road.
Serving as pall bearers will be Steve Falkner, Russell Haithcock, Brian Grissom, Mike Wall, Larry Johnson, Derrill Reaves, and Gordon Wilder.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the New Sandy Creek Baptist Building Fund, 1699 Weldons Mill Road, Henderson, NC27537.
