William Rufus Paul, Sr.

LOUISBURG- William Rufus “Sambo” Paul, Sr., 77, of Franklin Oaks, died Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Maria Parham Health Louisburg. Born February 14, 1946 in Vance County, he was the son of the late Estelle Grissom Paul and David Pete Paul. Sambo loved fishing and attending car shows and tractor and truck pulls. A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 1, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of J.M. White Funeral Home by Rev. Jonathan Owens. He is survived by two sons, Jeremy Paul (Angel) of Henderson and Joshua Paul (Heather) of Princeton; seven grandchildren, Addison Paul, Jalesia Steed, Adrianna Goode, Chase Sistare, Kelsey Sistare, Alexis Paul and Tyler Paul; two sisters, Virginia Roberson and Barbara Norwood (C.T.); two brothers, Curtis Paul (Melony) and Charles Paul; and a sister-in-law, Carolyn Paul. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Steve Paul. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Saturday from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. at J.M. White Funeral Home; and at other times they will be at the home of Jeremy Paul, 767 Walter Bowen Road, Henderson, NC 27537.
