William Richard Raynor

HENDERSON-William Richard Billy Raynor, 67 a resident of Henderson, passed away Saturday, December 26, 2015 at Maria Parham Medical Center of complications of Parkinsons Disease.
Born in Vance County on October 25, 1948, he was the son of Isabel Hart Raynor of Henderson and the late Emmette Lee Raynor.
William spent his formative years on Willowood Drive.He attended the University Of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.He was an excellent tennis player and won several Henderson Tennis Invitationals.His biggest joy in life was his love of canoeing the rivers of North Carolina.William worked as a mechanical programmer for many years.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by one brother, Robert H. Raynor (Sue) of Richmond Virginia; his sister, Susan T. Raynor of Alexandria, Virginia; a niece, Caitlin T. Hurwit of Washington, DC; and a nephew Nicholas R. Hurwit (Mara) of Oregon.
To honor his wishes, his cremains will be scattered along many of his favorite rivers in North Carolina.
