William Allen Rivers, Sr.

HENDERSON – William Allen Rivers, Sr., 83, a resident of NC 39, Hwy N., passed away Friday, July 31, 2026 at his home. Born, July 23, 1943 in Warren County, he was the son of the late Alvis Jackson Rivers and Martha Allen Rivers. He was retired from Variety Wholesalers, a member of Marrow’s Chapel Church where he was a member of the Golden Age Group, Adult Sunday School Class and the Methodist Men.

A graveside funeral service will be held Friday August 7, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Marrow’s Chapel Church Cemetery by Rev. Johnny Yount and Rev. Marty Keeton.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Hope Rivers of the home; one son, William Allen Rivers, Jr., (Heather), of Winston Salem; one daughter, Susan Denise Harris of Henderson; six grandchildren, Hannah Rivers, Emily Miles (Josh), Sarah Rivers, Molly Rivers, Matthew Harris, and Luke Harris; and four great grandchildren, Oliver Wansley, Hallie Wansley. Daisy Miles, and River Miles. 

Family will receive friends prior to service in the Marrow’s Chapel Church Fellowship Hall from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Marrow’s Chapel Church, c/o Marshall Tingen, 9034 McDuffie Road, Oxford NC 27565.
